CONVENING INQUIRY
We are in times of turbulence, increasing complexity and rapid change. The decisions made by leaders and organisations about pathways towards a regenerative future cannot be made in isolation from the living systems of which they are part.
To navigate complexity and activate transformative change well, almost always requires collective intelligence. That means effective multi-stakeholder and trans-contextual convening and inquiry.
Really Regenerative is an experienced convener and host of multi-stakeholder inquiries and dialogues into the future.

Some of the projects we have designed and hosted.
FOOD SYSTEMS
UN FOOD SYSTEMS DIALOGUES
Between 2020 and 2024 the UN Food Systems Dialogue programme has hosted almost 1700 different dialogues across the world, bringing more than 110,000 different participants in global food systems together to explore transformative pathways towards a resilient and secure food system. We were proud to design and host a series of dialogues on behalf of Compassion in World Farming on accelerating the shift towards regenerative agriculture.
FUTURE OF PROTEIN IN FOOD BUSINESS
In 2022-23 we designed, convened and hosted a series of dialogues within the global food business system across retailers, food processors, food producers and farmers into a collective approach to reducing the levels of industrially produced animal-sourced protein in their supply chains. Participants included major international and national brands, retailers and food chains.
BUSINESS
COASTAL WEST SUSSEX PARTNERSHIP
In 2023 Coastal West Sussex Partnership asked us to support them to develop a new strategic vision for business in the region. Rather than working as an independent consultant we agreed to convene the field of diverse enterprises in the region and enter into collective inquiry, working with IFF’s 3 Horizons Framework to explore the future potential of the region. We looked at the historically successful patterns and processes of ecology, economy and culture in the region and explored different frameworks that might underpin a resilient future narrative. The Economy For Life strategic narrative was launched in Summer 2023 after a three month inquiry.
LET’S GO NET ZERO!
In 2022 West Sussex County Council asked us to support them to develop a toolkit for SMEs to help them with the transition to net zero. Rather than independently produce a toolkit, we proposed they convene a collective inquiry with SMEs to determine their needs, challenges and ambitions directly. After a three month inquiry, WSCC was better able to create a brief that effectively moved the SME system forward, resulting in the Let’s Go Net Zero educational programme.
COMMUNITY
DESIRE – KALUNDBORG
As part of the EU Horizon New European Bauhaus programme DESIRE – Designing Irresistible Circular Cities, we worked with the city of Kalundborg’s participant partners – Knowledge Hub Zeeland and the Royal Danish School of Architecture to convene a new group of citizens across the many small, diverse but disconnected interest groups into one cohesive group wanting to work towards the future of Kalundborg with both municipality and business community groups.
We offered support to the team through participation in our signature learning journey Power of Place to gain understanding of regenerative design principles, and supported the project manager to bring a new field of energy to life in Kalundborg.
The Phoenix Team has gone on to host experiments in nature-connection with architectural practice Tredje Natur and is becoming an energising and vitalising force in this small Danish city.
FALKLAND, SCOTLAND
Over the past 5 years we have been invited by Ninian Stuart of Falkland Estate to participate in a wide variety of hosted events exploring community and the food system. The potential of the bioregion of Fife to create a sustainable resilient food system continues to engage and inspire us, as does the work of Ninian in gradually transferring the estate to the ownership of the people of the place.
