Confused by Climate Change?

Do you feel overwhelmed by the challenge of climate change? Are you struggling to manage conflicting emotions and unsure how to take action?

You might feel exhausted from trying to push for action inside your organisation.  You might feel so overwhelmed that you find yourself frozen – unable to find something meaningful on which to focus and take action.

What would it be like if you could take a deep breath, take time out and share your anxiety and confusion with others equally eager to find meaningful ways to take action or managing the deep adaptation climate change requires of us?

What are Climate Conversations?

They are gatherings for people who are waking up to the real possibility of existential threat from climate change.  They are quality conversations designed and held by experienced constellations experts and knowledgeable facilitators.  They are designed to help you explore the stress and anxiety an grief caused by multiple issues arising from climate change, but also to come together around hope, inspiration and action.

Come and join us for some inspiring conversation, connecting with other souls who feel the way you do and who want help with:

  • Understanding their emotions around climate change
  • Feelings of impotence in the face of existential threat
  • Focusing on taking meaningful, but achievable, action
  • Building resilience – for themselves and for their community
  • Sense-making in a world inundated with distractions and contradictory messages

Climate conversations are intimate gatherings with a maximum of 20 people held at beautiful venues cocooned by the beauty of Mother Nature.

What happens on the evening?

Where are Climate Conversations held?

We hold Climate Conversations at locations all over Sussex and Surrey.   Every Climate Conversation is held in an area of outstanding natural beauty and will be by water, in a wooded glade, or in a building which looks out onto inspiring views of nature.

What time do they begin?

DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF YEAR WE WILL USUALLY MEET AROUND 6PM SO THAT WE COME TOGETHER before sunset in the Spring and Summer months.  Winter events which may be held indoors will vary.

What will WE TALK ABOUT?

Climate change has different impact on diferent people.  Some people avoid it because it’s too big for them to comprehnd and surpress their anxiety.  Others are confused by the complexity of information out there.  Some people are angry, others sad at the impacts on people, planet and animals we already see happening, yet more people paralysed by grief at the potential loss.

We’ll EXPLORE all our emotions ABOUT THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE.  WE’LL also SHARE OUR ASPIRATIONS TO TAKE ACTION, LOOK AT WHATEVER MIGHT BE HOLDING US BACK FROM TAKING THE ACTION WE WANT TO, AND CO-CREATIVELY FIND THE FIRST STEPS WE CAN TAKE FORWARDS – INDIVIDUALLY AND TOGETHER.

Will there be food?

Yes there will be vegetarian and vegan food to cook over the flames, and hot drinks to keep you warm. Each different venue is ssupported and sponsored by a local drinks manufacturer and food business where possible.

What SHOULD I WEAR?

Come in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of mud and soot on.  Wear warm layers, especially in the early Spring & Autumn. Do bring a waterproof jacket just in case, although we will have shelter if it should rain. A good pair of walking boots is also handy as sometimes we will take a walk through the woods before we gather. In Winter we’ll be indoors so normal comfortable clothes will be fine.

WHAT time does it finish?

We EXPECT OUR CONVERSATIONS TO LAST BETWEEN 3 AND 4 HOURS.

Where do I sign up?

We will be launching our spring Climate Conversations in early 2020, so sign up here to be the first to know.
